The Equity auditor
General
Length of Contract: Six (6) weeks
Contract Flat Rate: $2,000 per organization
Maximum Hours: 10 per org, max two concurrent
Location: Virtual, must have reliable internet access
Program: Equity Factors Assessment
Status: Independent Contractor (1099)
Eligibility Requirements 
  • Have personally experienced harm as a result of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation; 
  • Established understanding of connection between personal experience and systems; 
  • Completion of low-cost orientation (including peer review); 
  • Attend two Monthly Listening Circles: and
  • An online review from your peers (Auditor selects three, Consortium selects two).
Description
The Equity Auditor is tasked with protecting the well being of employees, especially the most vulnerable, during the completion phase of the Equity Factors Assessment. To accomplish this, the Equity Auditor:
  • Conducts and manages the Anonymous Employee Questionnaire;
  • Approves or oversees - but not conduct - any employee engagement efforts to further the completion of Assessment;
  • Answers basic questions from organization regarding elements needed to complete the Assessment (i.e. ensuring completeness of submission); and
  • Shall not feel obligated to work alone; peer support is available via The Equity Consortium at any time. ​
Orientation, Cost: $300 USD (Valid for 3 years)
Orientations are offered on an as needed basis by emailing julia@TheEquityConsortium.com. It is expected that an Evaluator already be familiar with elements of institutional and systemic racism, sexism, ableism and the intersections within. Orientation therefore shall focus mainly on 1) Introducing the Equity Factors Assessment process, 2) The online platform to access a personal account, and 3) The easy navigation of and access to The Equity Consortium’s support network.

Description
The Equity Evaluator is tasked with evaluating an organization's completed Equity Factors Assessment. To do so, the Equity Evaluator applies intuition and rationality in balance to:
  • Utilizing The Equity Consortium’s Evaluation Matrix to review and analyze the results of the Anonymous Employee Questionnaire;
  • Utilizing The Equity Consortium’s Evaluation Matrix to review and analyze the results of the Equity Factors Assessment; 
  • Contact the organization for clarification only at the will of the Evaluator out of respect for time allocated;
  • Combine the analysis of both Questionnaire and Assessment into a final report;
  • Not feel obligated to work alone; peer support is available via The Equity Consortium network at any time.​

Julia Ismael (she/her), Head Architect of Aspirations, is a Transformative Justice practitioner and has kept peacemaking circles since 2012 that focus on race, gender and healing. She is a Black, Muslim woman who is the mother of three ah-may-zing children and calls Seattle her home since 1979. Currently, she's teaching herself kiswahili and how to call herself an artist again. Her role is convener and gatherer of collective wisdom.  julia@theequityconsortium.com

Marcel Baugh (he/him), Director of Equity Variables Test, is a Law, Tech, and Public policy professional with a Master’s in Public Administration; skilled in data management, program evaluation, project management, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Azura Tyabji (she/her), Lieutenant of Logistics, served as the 2018-19 Seattle Youth Poet Laureate and National Youth Poet Ambassador for the West. Her debut poetry collection, Stepwell, was released by Poetry Northwest and her second book, Dear Azula, I Have a Crush on Danny Phantom was published in 2021. Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, she continues to write in pursuit of healing, community, and justice. info@theequityconsortium.com

Brianna (Bri) Ishihara (she/her), Evaluation Director, started as an elementary school educator whose passion lies in equitable education and practice. She is a Yonsei, or fourth generation Japanese American, born and raised in south Seattle. In her spare time she enjoys creating 90s R&B Spotify playlists and spending time with her family and friends.
