Who We Are...
We practice equity as a default; an organization's commitment to undoing institutional injustice is simply not enough for what the future demands. A new standard emerges: The Equity Consortium centers the element of Equity as defined by us, those most affected. In this, we embrace all intersections of race, gender identity, physical and neuro-abilities, age, religion, and beyond. We institutionalize equity by providing:
In recognition of the whole human, outside of position and title, we invite community conversations to comfort, inform, and inspire.

Know where to begin. The Equity Variables Test requires only a couple hours of an organization's time and provides a wealth of information for a low cost.

Why we need...
Listening circles
"I'm active in the theater and I really miss the hanging out in the lobby, talking to new people and old friends. Circle gives that back to me."
- Trans Woman
"I need connection.. I need authenticity."
- Practically Every Participant
"What ends up happening is that I take all of this anti-racism work home with me and my family hears about it. But even they get tired sometimes and I'm left with my own feelings of self-doubt and frustration. I don't know how much more energy I have to keep fighting alone."
- A Seattle School Teacher
"I need Me."

Equity Factors Assessment
"I struggle with isolation because the problems they have with me and my skin are like this monolith that is constantly telling me I'm the one who's wrong. And, who wants to go around talking about how they cause problems. I need perspective to confirm I'm not crazy."
- (Former) Director of Diversity
"I call bullshit on their official Black Lives Matter statement. I've worked there. Where were they saying that when I had no choice but to quit?"

"I'm tired of the same story. They love my new energy, my 'unique' perspective and I'm invited to be my self. But every time I feel confident to tell the truth about racist or sexist realities, I'm suddenly 'not able to collaborate' or 'not a good fit' and I end up quitting and traumatized. I'm tired of thinking I've failed when it's them that failed me."
- A Black Woman
"I've had enough of the blatant hypocrisy. I trusted their complaint system and you know what? It's not designed for me to win, ever... I didn't have the energy to file a lawsuit, so I just left. I didn't even have another job waiting, but it was making me sick to stay."
-Former advocacy organization employee
"I need a revolution. I need places to practice the future and deal with all of this generational trauma. I need to create my own reality cuz this one just ain't working for me. It stops here."
